State tobacco-related legislative bills that have been acted on by a state legislative committee or state legislature are listed below alphabetically by state:

Maine: LD1215 (SP496), which ends the sale of flavored tobacco products, was amended with an effective date of 1/1/25, is listed as “unfinished business” in the House on July 6, 2023. LD1808 defines a remote retail seller and requires a remote retail seller to obtain a license; it defines “cost price” and uses it to calculate the 43% tax rate on other tobacco products. The bill status has not changed since being placed on the Senate Special Appropriations Table on June 22, 2023.
