State tobacco-related legislative bills that have been introduced in the past week are listed below alphabetically by state:

New Jersey: Assembly Bill 4936 limits the taxation of cigars under the Tobacco and Vapor Products Tax Act to a maximum of $.50 per cigar.

New York: Assembly Bill 11123 increases the OTP tax from 75% to 129% (including snuff) and increases the tax on the retail sale of vapor products from 20% to 48%.

Texas: House Bill 211 (Pre-filed): Imposes a sales tax of 5 cents per milliliter of vapor product sold and also imposes a use tax of 5 cents per milliliter of vapor product store used, or otherwise consumed in the state.
