Illinois: House Bill 3883, which prohibits the sale of flavored tobacco and vapor products, including menthol cigarettes, was considered in a hearing in the House Human Services Committee on November 12, 2019. An amended version of Senate Bill 668, which prohibits the sale of all flavored electronic cigarettes, passed the Senate Executive Committee on November 13, 2019. The previous version of the bill included a ban on the sale of other flavored tobacco products, but the most recent version would only prohibit the sale of all flavored electronic cigarettes.
Massachusetts: House Bill 4183, which would ban the sale of flavored tobacco products, tax e-cigarettes at 75% of wholesale, cap nicotine level in ENDS and increase retailer penalties for sales violations, passed the House on November 13, 2019 with a new bill number, HB4196. Senate Bill 2407 which is very similar to House Bill 4183 is scheduled to be voted on by the full Massachusetts Senate on November 20, 2019.
New Jersey: Assembly Bill 3178, which prohibits the sale or distribution of flavored electronic smoking devices and related products, was reported from the Assembly Health and Senior Services committee on November 14, 2019.
Pennsylvania: Senate Bill 473, which increases the legal age to purchase tobacco from 18 to 21, will be heard in the House Human Services Committee on November 20, 2019.
