State tobacco-related legislative bills that have been acted on by a state legislative committee or state legislature are listed below alphabetically by state:

California: Senate Bill 39, which requires that packaging of tobacco products for delivery through the mail or other delivery services: (1) identify that the contents are tobacco and require a signature of a person 21 or older, and (2) require that such a signature be obtained upon delivery, was signed by the Governor on September 16, 2019. Senate Bill 538, which requires e-cigarette manufacturers to provide the State Department of Public Health with a description and photograph of each type of e-cigarette product sold in the state, and allows the Department to charge an unspecified fee to cover the costs of the program, passed the Assembly Senate on September 12, 2019 and was sent to the Governor.
